Girls Junior Varsity Basketball, Girls Varsity Basketball · CHS Names Felder as Girl’s Basketball Head Coach

Cross High School names Mr. Quentin “Reese” Felder as their new Girl’s Basketball Head Coach. Felder is a native of Orangeburg, SC and attended Orangeburg-Wilkinson High School, where he was a multi-sport athlete. He is a graduate of Voorhees College in Denmark, SC, where he received a Bachelor’s Degree in Organizational Management.

Coach Felder or “Coach Reese” as he is affectionately called around the Orangeburg community has come from very humble beginnings that he values dearly. He fell in love with coaching and helping children in the evenings, while working full time in the manufacturing industry. It was at this time he realized the impact coaches have had on his life and how he was having that same positive affect on his players. After relatively instant success in developing skillful players and building winning programs, Coach Felder soon left the manufacturing industry, and accepted a position as Athletic Director and Head Basketball Coach at Garden City Preparatory Academy for Boys in Orangeburg, SC.

Coach Felder intends to lean on these experiences as well as his experience being a Regional Director, Nike Elite AAU Head Basketball Coach, and Founder of Palmetto Elite Sports Group Scouting Service, where they have assisted more than twenty current college scholarship and walk-on student-athletes in the last two years. Having successfully navigated the college recruiting process on numerous occasions, Coach Felder comes to Cross High School with a strong focus on building a sustainable, community-based girls’ basketball program with championship and collegiate aspirations.

Coach Felder says that he is “blessed and humbled to have this opportunity to build a program at Cross that will focus on the community.” Felder says that his ultimate goal next season is to maintain community support and to help the young ladies get to wherever they want go in life.
